A little about me
I joined the Behavioral Health team at the Institute for Family Health at 17th Street in June 2022. My previous experience has included working with formerly homeless adults with HIV/AIDS in a supportive housing residence, providing outpatient psychotherapy to adults in a training institute setting, and working with adults with developmental disabilities in a social/vocational skills program. My approach to treatment is first and foremost person-centered, strengths-based, and inclusive of my patients’ identities and lived experience. My training has primarily been in relational psychodynamic psychotherapy, but I am learning to utilize a blend of evidence-based treatments to best serve my patients’ unique needs.
Why I love my job
I think that it takes a lot of self-awareness and vulnerability to ask for help, especially mental health treatment. I consider being able to assist people as they explore their needs a huge honor, which motivates me to be the best clinician I can be for my patients.
