Professional experience & accomplishments

Dr. Casey Crump is the Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and Senior Faculty in the Department of Population Health Science and Policy, in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; and provides patient care as a family physician at the Institute’s Family Health Center of Harlem. He has conducted numerous international studies of population health, particularly focused on social and clinical determinants of health in high-risk populations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, an MD and Master of Public Health from Tulane University, and PhD in Epidemiology and MS in Biostatistics from the University of Washington, where he also completed the Family Medicine Residency. Prior to joining the Institute and Mount Sinai, he served as Director of the Center for Primary Care Research at Stanford University.
