Institute “stars” honored at Night of the Community Health Center Stars
On Tuesday, April 30th, several Institute “stars” were honored at the New York City “Night of the CHCStars” event to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Community Health Care Association.
Institute honorees included founders: Neil Calman, MD, president and CEO and Yvonne Eisner, RN, FNP-BC, clinical director for the Bronx region; and emerging leaders: Eric Gayle, MD, regional medical director; Francesco Leanza, MD, residency director; Sarah Nosal, MD, medical director; and Michelle Pichardo, MPH, Epic program manager.
The evening included remarks from the president of the National Association of Community Health Centers, Tom Van Coverden, and the founder of the first community health center in the United States, Jack Geiger, MD, about the history of community health centers and the important role they play in providing access to care to people all over the count.
Other Institute guests included Nicole Nurse, RN, MBA, senior vice president of clinical affairs, Maxine Golub, MPH, senior vice president for planning and development, and Susanne Callahan, MPH, assistant vice president for planning and development.
