The recent outbreak of monkeypox (MPX) cases was declared a public health emergency on Thursday, August 4, 2022 in the United States. The Institute for Family Health is currently working with New York City and State resources and will provide updates about services for monkeypox available at our health centers.

We encourage patients and community members to stay informed about monkeypox:

  • For monkeypox vaccine sites in New York City, visit nyc.gov/patient/s/monkeypox or call 877-VAX-4NYC (877-829-4692). For vaccine information outside of NYC, visit Monkeypox Vaccination (ny.gov)
  • To sign up for text message updates about monkeypox, text “MONKEYPOX” to 81336. For Spanish, text “MONKEYPOXESP” to 81336. New Yorkers can also opt-in for location-based text messages by providing a zip code.

If you are a patient with us, talk to your provider if you have questions or concerns about monkeypox. We are providing testing for patients with symptoms consistent with monkeypox.
