School Wellness and Early Care Education

School Wellness – Nutrition

Bronx Health REACH recognizes that healthier students have shown higher academic outcomes, and healthier staff cultivates a more productive workforce.  We equip stakeholders with the information and skills needed to champion wellness within their schools and implement Local School Wellness policies. Bronx Health REACH provides training, technical assistance, toolkits and other resources to help K-12 schools develop wellness councils, sustainable wellness programming, and wellness policies. We help schools to implement nutrition policies, including by empowering youth to engage in conversations around food policy and ensure that any competitive foods available in schools meet Smart Snacks criteria.

Early Care and Education – Nutrition

In partnership with Cornell University Cooperative Extension-NYC, Bronx Health REACH provides training and technical assistance to a network of home-based daycare providers organized through MARC Academy and Family Center.  The training includes sessions from the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities / Nemours Early Care and Education Train-the-Trainer series: Nourishing Healthy Eaters in Early Care and Education; Nourishing Infants and Toddlers; and Nourishing Preschoolers.
