  • The Bronx Health REACH Coalition meetings consist of members from the various Bronx Health REACH workgroups, representatives from diverse groups, organizations, community members and advocates coming together to hear updates from Bronx Health REACH and Bronx Health REACH partners about innovative strategies and initiatives being pursued to address racial and ethnic health disparities and the social determinants of health in the Bronx. Coalition meetings happen quarterly from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Due to COVID-19 the meetings are held via Zoom. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, we will meet in person at Walker Memorial Baptist Church (120 E. 169th St.) in the Bronx.

  • The Bronx Health REACH Health Disparities Workgroup meetings focus on the three roles of the group: 1) community organizing and activation; 2) advocacy; and 3) disseminating health disparity information. Its priority areas are: 1) improving health behaviors through promoting policies leading to improved access to healthy, affordable food; 2) improving the social and economic factors around violence and public safety; and income status; and 3) engaging the community as widely and as deeply as possible in #Not62: The Campaign for a Healthy Bronx. The other major agenda item of the Health Disparity Workgroup since its formation is the elimination of segregated specialty care in academic medical institutions. Our Health Disparities Workgroup meets on the second Friday of every month from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm. Due to COVID-19 the meetings are held via Zoom.
